Jan 29-  Deck Bar Concert at Kurt & Karoline Huettl house at Casa de Quest, 4.7 miles south with red and white fence, Party starts at 1 p m, concert from 2-5 pm, party will continue after show, BYOB, unless you want to donate to the Bar Fund! Ice will be available and please bring a snack to share, Kurt’s cell 501-636-9367

Jan 30 -  Island Time Bar and Grill, south of town at the old location of Sandbar, Concert 2-5 pm, great food and drinks available, RSVP to ruthverralls@gmail.com or 501-226-4508

Jan 31- The Dive Bar - North of the Cloisters, north of the bridge, Great food, drinks and music from 2-5 pm, RSVP to ada@seastarbelize.com or call 501-625-3364


Feb 3- A Day at Captain Morgans - 4 1/2 miles north of town, Meet at Estells for breakfast between 9-10 and we will head over to Captain Morgans for the day by golf cart or water taxi, your choice. Enjoy the day out on the beach, great food and drinks, take a tour, enjoy the casino, etc.. Concert from 2-5 pm


Feb 4 -  Catamaran Cruise to Hol Chan to snorkel the reef. Meet at the Ramons for boarding at 10:30 and depart at 11 am. Tickets $80 per person US, includes Hol Chan fee, snorkel gear, rum punch, beer and water on board the boat. You can meet there early and have breakfast at Ramons at Pineapples on the Beach before boarding. We will cruise back to Ramons for a concert from 2- 5 pm, you are welcome to have a late lunch and drinks at Pineapples on the Beach at Ramons during the concert. TURNTABLE TUESDAY - I Come From Dirt

I Come From Dirt is the second CD from Rumor Town. When I first listened to the CD, I heard a mix of Dwight Yoakman and David Ball. The guys of Rumor Town have a mesmerizing blend of true Texas Honkytonk and the Bakersfield sound. The tone of both albums is consistent, attesting to the core of what this four-man group represent.

In an episode of Larry's Country Diner, Vince Gill said 'the sound of the steel guitar is what he most identified with country music... that the instrument is most like the human voice'. If you've ever heard someone really coax a cry from a steel, you will understand what he meant.

Rumor Town is blessed with not one, but two accomplished steel players - Glenn Schankle (also on dobro) and Tommy Detamore. The Bakersfield/ Buck Owens style comes through in on the steel in He's Right Where I Belong.

From If You Think I'm Crazy Now through the final track, West Coast Change of Scenery, I was immersed in a sound that is pure country. You can bet, my next trip to Texas includes seeing these guys perform live.
