Normally, I post this stuff on Friday but it's Friday somewhere, right? There's still time to ditch the cold and head to warm weather and hot music! Here's the details on Kelly's Annual Birthday Bash in Belize:

Jan 29-  Deck Bar Concert at Kurt & Karoline Huettl house at Casa de Quest, 4.7 miles south with red and white fence, Party starts at 1 p m, concert from 2-5 pm, party will continue after show, BYOB, unless you want to donate to the Bar Fund! Feb 3- A Day at Captain Morgans - 4 1/2 miles north of town, Meet at Estells for breakfast between 9-10 and we will head over to Captain Morgans for the day by golf cart or water taxi, your choice. Enjoy the day out on the beach, great food and drinks, take a tour, enjoy the casino, etc.. Concert from 2-5 pm


Feb 4 -  Catamaran Cruise to Hol Chan to snorkel the reef. Meet at the Ramons for boarding at 10:30 and depart at 11 am. Tickets $80 per person US, includes Hol Chan fee, snorkel gear, rum punch, beer and water on board the boat. You can meet there early and have breakfast at Ramons at Pineapples on the Beach before boarding. We will cruise back to Ramons for a concert from 2- 5 pm, you are welcome to have a late lunch and drinks at Pineapples on the Beach at Ramons during the concert. TURNTABLE TUESDAY - Destiny & Fate - Kelly McGuire

I love surprises! As I looked forward to this new CD from Kelly McGuire, I was expecting the tropical sounds of Belize. Destiny & Fate offers up cold Carona's and slushy drinks with umbrellas - right along side a platter of Americana with a side order of 1950s. While that might sound like a menu for disaster, I assure you, Destiny & Fate offers the perfect balance of all of those.

Any Better Than This sets up the ten tracks with a seque from one sound to the next in a flawless roll of an island wave. Barnacles is full island sound.

When I think of a evening beach party, I think romance. Seventeen, Broken Pieces each have a reminiscent, thoughtful tone of relationship growth. Coming Home, Destiny & Fate, You Drive Me Crazy, Where Love Goes are more present tense.

The Flood is a bit off course. This one is more personal, drawing on the Americana and giving the album roots.

The Song is that last dance of the evening - that point in the evening when you don't want to let go of the person holding you or the overall experience, yet you leave the party with memories of a perfect evening.

Destiny & Fate is proof that whether on a beach in Belize, a neighborhood honkytonk in Texas or your living room for a house party, Kelly is at home.
