CONCERTS & EVENTS - Painted Woman Premier

As you can see from the photo above, Dusty Richards was one very happy cowboy on Saturday.

Painted Woman premiered a week ago today to become #1 at the box office in Poteau OK over Daddy's Home and Thor!!

After the movie I had Dusty pose next to the movie poster for me.

PAINTED WOMAN is one of the best written movies I have seen in a very long time. The biggest thing for me was that the sexual tension between Vincent and Julia was almost tangible from the screen. They never kissed once (though they do come close at a critical point) but you could almost see them draw to one another then the writers pull them away... like two very strong magnets you are fighting to keep separated. James Cotten and Amber Lindley did an excellent job crafting this movie.

One thing to keep in mind is that this is NOT Dusty's book, Mustanger and the Lady made into a movie. So don't read the book and expect the same thing on screen. Amber and James were INSPIRED by the characters in the book to create a beautiful piece they could take to the screen. The magic was intensified by the talent of David Thomas Jenkins and Stef Dawson in the leading roles.

I found this interview with Stef Dawson on YouTube:

Following the premier we went to Western Sizzlin for a celebration dinner with Dusty. This was his 150th novel and as well as his (we're not giving his age away) birthday.
